How Long Can I Stream an Event on EventLive?

Your streaming window is based on your event’s scheduled start time and number of event days. It does not begin again when you first go live or reconnect.

• You can start up to one hour before the scheduled start.
• A one-day event accepts new streams until 24 hours after the scheduled start.
• For a multi-day event, the end of the window is the scheduled start plus the number of days selected. Self-service events support 1–7 consecutive days.

Example

If a one-day event is scheduled for Saturday at 3:00 PM, you can start from Saturday at 2:00 PM and start or resume streams until Sunday at 3:00 PM. Starting late does not move the end time. A two-day event with that same scheduled start extends the window to Monday at 3:00 PM. These are 24-hour periods; a daylight-saving clock change can affect the displayed local end time.

Taking breaks

Stop the stream when you need a break, then resume the same event within its streaming window. Keep the same event link for viewers and, if using an encoder, the same event’s RTMP details. Pausing does not extend the window. Wait until the first device has stopped before starting from another device.

Events lasting more than one day

Select Multi-Day when creating the event, or update an upcoming event’s date and duration before going live. Choose enough consecutive days to cover the whole event, including any days in between sessions. Complete any additional payment shown in your account. See the multi-day setup guide.

For more than seven days, changes after you have started, or a long uninterrupted broadcast, contact support with your schedule before the event so we can confirm a suitable setup.

Testing and replay

Use Test Live to rehearse before the event, rather than starting the real event early. Test events use a separate link. See how to run a free test.

The streaming window controls when you can go live. Replay availability is separate and depends on your event’s storage and viewing settings. Keep the original event link for viewers to use when the replay is available.

Can’t resume?

Check the scheduled time, number of days and publication/payment status. If the window has ended, contact support before trying to change the schedule or buying another event.

Important: changing the schedule after streaming

The system will not let you change the event’s date and time once you have streamed to its link. If you ran a test stream to your live event link and want to reset your event, please contact support. We can reset it for you so you can update the date and time as needed. For rehearsals, use a separate Test Live event.
