How to Start Streaming Before Your Scheduled Event Time

You can start streaming up to one hour before your scheduled event time. For an event scheduled at 2:00 PM, this means 1:00 PM.

1. Open your event in the EventLive app or Broadcaster Console.
2. Check its scheduled time, time zone and that it is unlocked/published.
3. When the streaming window opens, use the event’s go-live option. If using an encoder, start with that event’s RTMP details.

Need to start earlier?

Change the upcoming event’s schedule before you begin. Use a separate free test event for rehearsals outside the streaming window.

How long can I continue?

Your streaming window is based on your event’s scheduled start time and number of event days. It does not begin again when you first go live or reconnect.

• You can start up to one hour before the scheduled start.
• A one-day event accepts new streams until 24 hours after the scheduled start.
• For a multi-day event, the end of the window is the scheduled start plus the number of days selected. Self-service events support 1–7 consecutive days.

If the go-live option is unavailable

Check the event’s schedule, publication and payment status. Contact support with your event link if those are correct.

You can share the viewer link ahead of time and use a pinned guestbook message to explain your event schedule. Replay access depends on the event’s settings and storage.

Important: changing the schedule after streaming

The system will not let you change the event’s date and time once you have streamed to its link. If you ran a test stream to your live event link and want to reset your event, please contact support. We can reset it for you so you can update the date and time as needed. For rehearsals, use a separate Test Live event.
