How to Use the Same Stream Key Multiple Times

You can reuse an event’s RTMP URL and stream key for different parts of that same event, such as a ceremony and reception.

1. Start your encoder using the RTMP details from the selected event.
2. Stop the stream for a break.
3. Restart using the same details while the event’s streaming window is still open.

The key stays with that event. Use a separate event and its own key for a different booking. Keep stream keys private: viewers only need the event’s watch link.

Your streaming window is based on your event’s scheduled start time and number of event days. It does not begin again when you first go live or reconnect.

• You can start up to one hour before the scheduled start.
• A one-day event accepts new streams until 24 hours after the scheduled start.
• For a multi-day event, the end of the window is the scheduled start plus the number of days selected. Self-service events support 1–7 consecutive days.

What do viewers see?

Viewers use the same event page for each session and any available replay. Eligible guests may receive another live notification when you resume. Brief reconnects are suppressed, so a restart does not always send a new email.
