How To Test Live Streaming

You can use Start free test to try EventLive before buying an event. Rehearse with the device, microphone and internet connection you plan to use on the day.

1. Open the EventLive app or Broadcaster Console and sign in.
2. Select Start free test.
3. If using the app, follow the go-live controls to start the test (Start Test). While it streams, the status shows TEST. If using an encoder, choose RTMP under How would you like to test? and copy the test event’s URL and key. Test keys start with TEST.
4. Open your private test link on a second device, or share it with someone helping you.
5. Check the picture, sound and connection stability. Mute the viewing device or use headphones to avoid echo.
6. Stop the test and check any available recording before the real event.

Keep testing separate from your real event

A free test streams to your private test link, not your event link, so guests on your event link don’t see it. It also has its own streaming details. Switch to the real event’s details when it is time to broadcast. If you are asked to buy an event, check that you selected Start free test.

You can repeat tests as you prepare. EventLive may reopen an existing test rather than create a new one. Free tests are for setup checks and do not include every paid-event option.

If no video appears

Check that broadcasting has started, that the device is online and that the viewer is opening your private test link. For RTMP, confirm the complete test URL and key. If using the app, also check camera and microphone permissions.

Check local recording status separately from live video. A successful live test does not guarantee that a backup file was saved.
