How To Incorporate Remote Speakers into an Event Using Zoom
To include remote speakers in an EventLive broadcast, first combine their audio and video in your meeting or streaming setup, then send that output to EventLive.
One option: Zoom with OBS Studio
- Create your Zoom meeting and invite the remote speakers.
- On the broadcasting computer, open OBS and capture the meeting window or the layout you want viewers to see.
- Configure the meeting audio in OBS as well as the picture. Check that remote speakers are audible and that audio is not feeding back.
- Follow the OBS connection guide to enter your event’s server address and stream key.
- Start a test stream and check it from a separate guest device before the real event.
Some meeting products or Zoom plans can also send directly to a custom streaming destination. Check the provider’s current account requirements and instructions before choosing that route. OBS is one possible setup, not a requirement for every remote-speaker workflow.
Guests at the venue and online
If people at the venue need to see the speakers, connect a display or projector and test the venue sound. The EventLive phone camera stream by itself does not bring remote callers into the picture.
Guests do not need a broadcaster account or the EventLive app to watch. Depending on the host’s settings, they may need a password, an invited email address, their name and email, or a ticket. Contact the host if you do not have the required access details.
For viewers on other networks or overseas, test viewing access in advance. Keep the stream key and broadcast instructions private; share the guest viewing link with the audience.
