Rooms let one event stream from several places at the same time. Typical uses are two gyms at a volleyball tournament, the main stage and a second stage at a festival, conference tracks or breakout rooms, and a sanctuary with an overflow hall. Each room is its own live stream, with its own stream key, recording and guestbook or chat. Guests keep one event link and switch between rooms with tabs at the top of the event page. They register or buy a ticket once, and it covers every room. You can also sell a separate ticket for each room.

You can call your rooms **Rooms**, **Stages**, **Tracks**, **Courts**, **Fields**, **Halls** or **Cameras**, and rename each one. Multi-room events are also called multi-stage, multi-court or multi-track events, or simultaneous streams.

## When to use rooms, multiple cameras or separate events

- **Rooms:** several things happen at the same time in different places, and each viewer picks what to watch. Examples:
  - tournaments with several courts, gyms, fields, mats or rinks: volleyball, basketball, wrestling, cheer, gymnastics, pickleball;
  - conferences with parallel tracks or breakout sessions;
  - festivals with several stages;
  - graduations or services with an overflow room;
  - trade shows.
- **Multiple cameras for one program:** several cameras film the same stage, and viewers should see one edited feed. Switch the cameras in OBS or a hardware switcher and send one stream. See [How To Use Multiple Cameras for Live Streaming](https://www.eventlive.pro/help/how-to-use-multiple-cameras-for-live-streaming). If you'd rather let viewers choose between camera angles, for example a wide shot and a close-up, add each angle as a room called **Camera**.
- **Separate events:** the streams aren't related, for example two funerals at different times or two different weddings. Create separate events. See [Can I Stream Multiple Events Simultaneously from the Same Account](https://www.eventlive.pro/help/can-i-stream-multiple-events-simultaneously-from-the-same-account).

## What you need

- **A business account.** See [How To Switch from a Personal Account to a Business Account](https://www.eventlive.pro/help/how-to-switch-from-a-personal-account-to-a-business-account).
- **One streaming device for each room that is live at the same time:** a phone running the EventLive app, a camera with an encoder, or a computer running OBS. One device can't stream two rooms at once.
- **EventLive on the web** at [broadcaster.eventlive.pro](https://broadcaster.eventlive.pro), on a computer or in your phone's browser. That's where you add rooms. The iPhone and Android apps get rooms in their next update; until then, see [Using the EventLive app before the update](#using-the-eventlive-app-before-the-update).
- **An event that hasn't ended.** You can add rooms to any event that isn't a test event, hasn't ended and isn't archived.

An event can have up to 10 rooms: the main event plus 9 more.

## Add a room

1. Open your event at [broadcaster.eventlive.pro](https://broadcaster.eventlive.pro).
2. In the event menu, select **Add a room, stage or track**. It's just below **Title, Date, Time, Event Link, Uploads**.
3. The first time, a short explanation appears. Under **What do you call them?**, choose **Room**, **Stage**, **Track**, **Court**, **Field**, **Hall** or **Camera**.
4. Select **Add Court 2** (the button uses the name you chose). Your event becomes Court 1 and keeps the main link. The new room is Court 2.

To add more rooms, use the menu again, or open the menu on your event's card on the dashboard and choose **Add court**.

### What a new room copies

A new room starts with the main event's settings:

- date, time and number of days;
- cover image, description, logo and branding, and links;
- privacy, password and registration settings;
- guestbook or chat, download and viewer settings;
- ticket settings.

It gets its own link, stream key, recording, guestbook or chat, and live viewer count. Fundraising isn't copied, because every room uses the main event's fundraiser.

### What rooms cost

- **Credits:** each room is unlocked like an event, at 1 credit per day. For a two-day tournament streamed from two gyms, the main event uses 2 credits and the second gym uses 2 more. If you don't have enough credits, the room is added locked, and you unlock it like any event. See [How do Event Credits Work?](https://www.eventlive.pro/help/how-do-event-credits-work)
- **Unlimited plan:** rooms are included at no extra cost. See [What Does the EventLive Unlimited Subscription Include?](https://www.eventlive.pro/help/what-does-the-eventlive-unlimited-subscription-include)
- **2026 nonprofit offer:** rooms are free for events you create by December 31, 2026, like your other events. The **Add a room** window may still mention credits, but none are used. See [eventlive.pro/nonprofit](https://www.eventlive.pro/nonprofit).

Deleting a room that hasn't gone live returns its credits, the same as deleting an event.

## Rename, switch and manage rooms

- **Rename a room:** open the room and select **Rename Court 2** in the event menu. Enter a name of up to 40 characters, for example *Gym B*, *Main Stage* or *Track 2: Workshops*. The tab on the event page shows the new name, and the room's link stays the same.
- **Switch between rooms:** on the dashboard, the event's card shows the rooms on its cover, for example **Court 1 · 2 courts**. Select it and choose a room. The event screen and **How to Go Live** also have a room switcher at the top.
- **Change the date, time or days:** change them on the main event, and every room follows. If you add days, each room uses its own credits for them; if you remove days, each room gets its credits back. A room's own date can't be changed.
- **Delete:** delete the rooms first, then the main event. The main event can't be deleted while it still has rooms.

## Stream each room

Every room streams separately, from its own device:

- **From the EventLive app:** sign in on each phone or tablet with the same account. Open the room and select **Go Live**. In the updated app, **Go Live** asks *Which room are you streaming?*
- **With OBS, a camera encoder or another RTMP app:** open **How to Go Live**, choose the room at the top and copy that room's RTMP server and stream key into the encoder. Each encoder needs its own room's key. See [How to Go Live Using RTMP](https://www.eventlive.pro/help/how-to-go-live-using-rtmp).

Rooms can start and stop at different times. Each room shows its own status, and the tabs on the event page show a red dot on every room that is live.

## What guests see

- **One link with tabs:** guests use your event link, which is the main room's link. Tabs at the top of the event page list every room, and a red dot marks the ones that are live. Each room also has its own link, which takes guests straight to that room.
- **Separate streams:** each room has its own video, replay and guestbook or chat.
- **One sign-in:** guests register or enter their email once, and it works in every room.
- **Embeds:** an event embedded on your website shows the room tabs too. See [How To Embed EventLive Streams on Your Website](https://www.eventlive.pro/help/how-to-embed-eventlive-streams-on-your-website).

## Tickets for multi-room events

Set up tickets on the main event (Court 1), in **Sell Tickets**, as described in [How to Sell Tickets for a Livestream Event](https://www.eventlive.pro/help/how-to-sell-tickets-for-a-livestream-event). Then choose how rooms are sold:

- **One ticket for all courts** (the default): one ticket covers every room, like a weekend pass for a whole tournament. Buyers switch rooms with the tabs and never pay twice. A room's **Sell Tickets** screen shows **Open Court 1 tickets** instead of its own prices.
- **Separate ticket per court:** each room sells its own ticket. Set each room's price on that room's own **Sell Tickets** page. A room without its own price still uses the main event's ticket.

Single-day tickets, replay prices and downloads work as they do for any event. A download bought with the main event's ticket covers the rooms' videos too. A ticket is for one viewing device at a time, across all the rooms it covers: opening it on a second device or browser tab disconnects the first.

## Guest list, reminders and go-live emails

- **One guest list:** the main event keeps it, and anyone who registers or buys a ticket on any room is added there. **Guest List & Invite** on a room explains this and has an **Open the guest list** button that takes you to the main event's list.
- **One go-live email:** guests get one email when the first room goes live, not one for every room. No other go-live email goes out while another room is still live, or within 30 minutes of the last one.
- **Separate room tickets:** buyers of a room's own ticket are on that room's list and get that room's emails.

## Fundraising

Every room uses the main event's fundraiser. The **Donate** button appears on every room's page, and the live donation tracker shows on every room's stream. Set up fundraising on the main event; see [Fundraisers and donations for nonprofits and charities](https://www.eventlive.pro/help/fundraisers-and-donations-for-nonprofits).

## Analytics and recordings

Each room has its own recording and replay, and its own live viewer count. Unique viewers across all rooms are counted on the main event.

## Using the EventLive app before the update

Until the iPhone and Android apps are updated:

- Each room shows on your event list as its own event, named like *Tournament — Court 2*.
- **Go Live**, **How to Go Live** and the RTMP details all work for each room, so every room can stream from the app.
- Add and rename rooms on the web.
- If you try to delete the main event while it has rooms, the app shows *Could not delete event*. Delete the rooms first.
- A room's date can't be changed. Change the main event's date instead, and the rooms follow.

## Questions

**Can one phone stream two rooms?** No. Each room needs its own device or encoder while both are live.

**Can a guest watch two rooms at the same time?** On a public or unlisted event, yes, in two browser tabs or on two devices. On a ticketed or invite-only event, each guest's access works on one screen at a time, so they watch one room at a time and switch with the tabs.

**Is a room the same as Multi-Camera?** No. Multiple cameras combine into one stream that everyone watches. Rooms are separate streams that guests choose between. See [How To Use Multiple Cameras for Live Streaming](https://www.eventlive.pro/help/how-to-use-multiple-cameras-for-live-streaming).

**Can I turn a room back into its own event?** Not yet. Delete the room and create a new event instead.

**How many rooms can I add?** Up to 10 rooms per event, counting the main event.
