A poor-signal warning, paused broadcast or buffering video can come from the broadcaster’s connection, the viewer’s connection, or the streaming setup. Check the source of the problem before stopping a live event.

## 1. Check who is affected

Look at the stream status on the broadcasting device. If possible, ask someone on a separate connection to check the viewer page. If only one viewer is affected, ask them to refresh and try another connection or device.

## 2. Improve the broadcaster’s connection

- Keep the broadcasting device stationary and closer to the Wi-Fi router where practical.
- Consider congestion: a venue network that worked during rehearsal may become busy when guests arrive.
- If your equipment supports it, use a reliable wired connection.
- Check the encoder, camera, power and cables as well as the network.

## Adjust professional equipment settings

If you use OBS, a hardware encoder or other professional equipment, lower the video bitrate if your upload connection cannot keep up. If needed, reduce resolution as well and test the result. You are responsible for choosing settings that suit your connection. For best results, use wired internet where possible.

The EventLive app adjusts its streaming bitrate automatically. Focus on improving the connection rather than looking for a manual bitrate control. If you cannot make your professional setup work reliably, use the EventLive app instead.

## 3. Change networks carefully

A tested mobile-data connection or another Wi-Fi network may work better, but switching can briefly interrupt the broadcast. Check mobile reception and available data first. Where possible, make the change during a planned pause and then verify the viewer page.

## 4. Restart only when needed

If the connection does not recover, stop and restart the stream on the same event once the connection is stable. Stay within the event’s [streaming window](https://www.eventlive.pro/help/how-long-can-i-stream-an-event-on-eventlive). Avoid repeatedly restarting a stream that is already recovering.

## Check the recording afterward

A replay may contain interruptions or missing footage if the stream did not reach EventLive. Check the server recording and any local backup before deciding whether to upload a replacement.

## Prepare before the next event

Rehearse at the venue with the same equipment and connection. Check upload speed, microphone audio and the viewer picture using a free test event. If problems continue, send support your event link, device or encoder details, connection type, and the approximate time the problem occurred.
