# How To Record Your Event While Streaming

The EventLive mobile app is designed to save a local backup while you stream. EventLive also records the video that reaches its servers. These recordings can differ if the internet connection drops.

## Check that both are working

1. Start your event using the app’s broadcast controls.
2. Check the live status and the local recording indicator separately.
3. Pay attention to low-storage or recording warnings. Live streaming may continue even when the phone is no longer saving a backup.

Keep enough storage available for the whole event. Local recording depends on device support, settings and free space.

## Using OBS or another encoder?

Enable local recording in that software or device if you want a backup. EventLive cannot automatically save a file on every external encoder.

## After the stream

Check your saved recording and the event’s replay. Open the event’s download options when the server recording is ready. If the local copy contains footage missing from the replay, use **Manage Video** to upload it and carefully choose whether to add or replace footage.

Run a **Test Live** event to see how many hours of footage your phone can record. Tap that indicator to see how many GB of storage remain. EventLive stops local recording when free storage reaches **1 GB**, leaving space so the phone does not become severely full. Check the local recording indicator separately from the live status.
