# Do Viewers Need to Enter an Email to Watch a Livestream?

By default, viewers do not need to enter an email address for an open-access EventLive event. They can click the event link and watch in a browser. Hosts can choose to collect guest details or restrict access.

## Require a Name and Email Without an Invitation List

If you want everyone entering the event to provide their details:

1. Open your event in the [EventLive app](https://eventlive.app.link/get) or [Broadcaster Console](https://broadcaster.eventlive.pro/).
2. Go to **Privacy Settings**.
3. Turn on the option requiring all guests to enter their name and email address before watching.
4. Save your changes.

Guests can then enter their own details to join; you do not need to invite each person in advance. Their details appear in **Guest List & Invite**. Registration is not proof that someone watched, and enabling it later does not identify earlier anonymous viewers.

## How Invite-Only Events Work

Invite Only restricts viewing to people on the event’s guest list. Add the guests’ email addresses in **Guest List & Invite**, then share the invitation with them. Guests need to use the email address that was invited; entering a different address does not grant access.

## Ticketed Events Require an Email

For a pay-per-view event, viewers need an email address to purchase and access their ticket. When returning, use the email used at checkout. A single-day ticket also has its own scheduled access window.

## Reminders Are Separate

The reminder option sends event notifications. Signing up for reminders alone does not purchase a ticket or give access to an invite-only event.
